driving distance for multiple post codes ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi all,

i have noticed that we can use bing rest service to get driving distance for two different locations  on this url

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg636957.aspx

so to get driving distance from point A to B we could use "http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/V1/Routes/Driving?o=xml&wp.0=lynnwood&wp.1=seattle&avoid=minimizeTolls&key=BingMapsKey" to post back to bing server and get the xml output:

so my question is i have 3 UK post codes like bellow

    A. M14 5AR

    B. BL6 6SX

    C. NE6 5HL

could some one let me know how do i change the post url to post 3 different post codes and get the driving distance

    from

    Point A to Point B

    Point A to Point C

or if bing doesn't support for post codes then i have lat and lng to all my post codes ,

all i am looking for is a solution to get driving distance using bing rest service for multiple addresses.

if any expert can help me on this that will help us to decide whether we can replace google map in to bing map on this

    thanks

    regards

  • You can pass in multiple waypoints into the routing service however it will route them in the order you provided; A -> B -> C. If you would like to get the route A -> B and A -> C then you will need to circle back to A after your first set of waypoints like this: A -> B -> A -> C. You can add up to 25 waypoints in a single routing request by adding them as parameters using the "wp.#" format. Here is an example:

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/V1/Routes/Driving?o=xml&wp.0=A&wp.1=B&wp.2=A&wp.3=C&key=BingMapsKey
