Credential Provider RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    Windows Server 2008.
I can't find a way to do in Credential Provider similar thing what wlxSasNotify(WLX_SAS_TYPE_CTRL_ALT_DEL); does in GINA.
Basically I need to make user auto login without hitting any Ctrl+Alt_Del.

Can somebody give me a hint?

    Thanks,
    BGmot.

Same here, I am looking for a way to programmatically create a console session for a user whose password is known. I need to have a user account that is always logged in on all machines, such that even if an admin user forcibly logs off that account through the task manager, the account will be automatically logged right back in.

Is it possible to do this without writing a custom credential provider? I know that it's possible one way or another because Macro Scheduler already does this: http://www.mjtnet.com/autologon.htm and I would like to know how. :)

  • Clearly we have luck of documentation here. Do you know of any other forums that can shed some light on this?
    Thanks.

  • Indeed.

I don't know any other forums, but Alun Jones talks about credential provider pains / remedies on his MVP blog, which is the most useful thing I have found so far:
