Visual Studio Toolbox Controls Installer problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We're trying to install .NET components into Visual Studio toolbox using Toolbox Controls Installer. We have several assemblies with components and all of them are installed normally except the largest one.

We've checked Visual Studio log and it says:

        2012/11/26 05:56:32.917

Attempting to get Toolbox items from Assembly <My Assembly strong name>

        2012/11/26 05:56:34.379

Toolbox: package load took 30 ms, ResetDefaults call took 2123 ms

So, it looks like VS was not able to load components in time, so it skipped this assembly. It's interesting that this problem occurs only in Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012 works as expected.

Does anybody know if there is some way to fix this problem?

  • Still nothing?

Visual Studio components installing mechanisms are real headache.
