  • Question

  • Hi All,

  • Why? Only MSFT can tell. For Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 there was a 3rd party component instant messenger client called Mobile QQ (see http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8079). The .msi will probably not work on WINCE700 but, if you have WINCE600 you can install it there and copy the \WINCE600\3rdparty\TENCENT folder in WINCE700

    I did exactly as you suggested, but a problem which is this :-

    Under catalog item Third Party i am able to see the "Tensent" catalog but i am not able to select the check box "Tensent Mobile QQ"

    The check box is disabled.

  • have you fixed the catalog file  substituting 6.00 with 7.00 in the pbxml file:
    <CatalogFile xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" RequiredVersion="6.00" xsi:schemaLocation="urn:Microsoft.PlatformBuilder/Catalog PbcXml600.xsd" xmlns="urn:Microsoft.PlatformBuilder/Catalog">
        <OSVersion>6.00</OSVersion>
        <FileVersion>6.00</FileVersion>

  • My fault: Mobile QQ is for ARMV4I only which is no longer supported in WINCE700, this is why you cannot select the item.

    If you substitute ARMV4I in <SupportedCpuId></SupportedCpuId> with the CPU architecture of your BSP you'll be able to select it although it will not work...

  • Thanks again Luca.

    Is there a documentation available which talks in detail about the feature/support which we can get with WEC7.

    The generic documentation available tells few differences as compared to WinCE 6.
