Moving Access to Sharepoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I want to move my Access database to publish online. I have moved the tables in my database to my online Sharepoint website. I also have query, a form, and a report in my database and create relations to the tables again.

How do I move my query, and form (which creates a report), report (which is created by running the query), to publish to my sharepoint site, how do I navigate?

After I move them online, how can I recreate the tables relationships online?

  • Hello,

We can only export tables or queries to SharePoint. Please visit Export a table or query to a SharePoint site. It is impossible to publish forms and reports to SharePoint. When exporting a table, all related tables would be copied as well, so there is no need to re-create the relationships.

In the past, we create Access Web Apps.

An Access app is a database that you use in a standard web browser, but which you design and modify in Access 2013 or later. The data and database objects are stored in SQL Server or Microsoft Azure SQL Database, so you can share the data within your organization using on-premises SharePoint 2013 or Office 365 for business.

However, Access Services will be retired from Office 365 and SharePoint Online. Microsoft will stop creation of new Access-based web apps and Access web databases in Office 365 and SharePoint Online starting in June, 2017 and shut down any remaining web apps and web databases by April, 2018. As an alternative, consider using Microsoft PowerApps to build no-code business solutions for the web and mobile devices.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no conversion tool to transform an existing Access application into a web application. You'll have to pick your tool of choice and (almost) start over from scratch.

    Just my 2 cents...
