  • Question

  • I am facing an issue with Entity Framework in my project and wanted to seek help.
I am using ASP.NET WebAPI to receive $.ajax POST requests from 2 websites.
Whenever a user hits tab(technically onblur) on any field in the web page like input, select etc,
a $.ajax POST is sent to the webAPI. The webAPI inserts the data into a database table.
Everything was working properly in development however in production the number of users was quite large
(We are seeing more than 1 lakh records per day) and on seeing the log file, we see the following error
An error occurred while updating the entries. See the inner exception for details.
One issue I found with my code is not calling dbContext dispose. Is it because of not calling dispose
or entity framework is finding it difficult to handle so many concurrent inserts.
We have 10 web servers load balanced.
    Any suggestion would be helpful.

  • I am not a web developer and so in order to see if I can help with this issue I need to see what the inner exception message is, Please post the inner exception message.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • You don't say what the error message is nor do you say what the inner exception message is about? And you expect help?
