Detect a pig using Kinect RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

As you know, Kinect can detect ears of a person.

My question is: Can I detect a pig's ears using kinect?

I am doing a project, so at first, I have to find out whether or not it is a pig.

What I thought is detecting ears first!

But in a while, I was told that kinect is usually for detecting human, not other objects.

Is there any possibility to try this project? If not, what is the alternative tool to detect a pig's ears?

  • Out of the box, no it cannot. The Kinect body/skeleton tracking system is trained for the human forum not animals.  As others have done, you can build a shape/object detection system that could possibly do this based on the data that you get from the SDK.
