Kinect Depth Resolution Discrepancy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

According to the website, kinect v2 has 512x484 depth resolution.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindows/meetkinect/features.aspx

But in MVA videos, it is clearly mentioned as 512x424.

Which one is true? Or has it been a change on depth resolution?

  • You can request it from the SDK itself.

When you get a depth frame, get the frame description and then get the width/height.

That shows it to be 512x424, and when actually using the data that confirms it as well.

  • 512x424 is the correct resolution for depth & IR.

  • that's for reporting that, we are getting the site updated. As Brekel stated, always get the height/width from the API's.
