How can I programmatically verify a signed outlook message is valid and trusted? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I'd like to find out whether a given signed message is valid and trusted - meaning it doesn't have a "Signed by: There are problems with the signature. Click the signature button for details."

    How can I do that?

    Thanks,

    Nili

  • Outlook Object Model or Extended MAPI expose no such information. You would need to programmatically process the p7m (or the raw MIME in case of clear signed) attachment.

    <plug>

    Redemption exposes encrypted messages through the RDOEncryptedMessage object (http://www.dimastr.com/redemption/rdoencryptedmessage.htm) and its SignatureValid property.

    The upcoming version of Redemption (5.3) features a completely reworked RDOEncryptedMessage implementation; let me know if you need a beta version.

    </plug>
