Caching in an application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I have a client application that has a very intense communication with the server (Java). I would no like to create some sort of cache to prevent the client to ask the server every time.

For example, in 1 second i can get 40 request for the identical object. I would like to take the first request and send it to the server and queue up the other requests until the server has responded. I have come up with a solution but it has grown very complex and I feel that I can't be the only one with this problem. Does anyone here found out a nice solution or does anyone have a suggestion of a framework to use?

Another issue I have is that if the server does not respond i need to go down to a database instead to get the data from there so I need to be able to specify the data collector my self.
