Deleted Databases Restored without Admin Action

    Question

  • I have deleted a couple of database via the Azure Portal.  The logs so that it has completed.

I then login back in the next day and the deleted databases are still there.  The first time this happened I thought that I might not have completed the delete so did it again yesterday only to have it be active again this morning.

This is concerning as I would expect for a restore that a user action would have to happen.  Or the delete is not happening even thou all status to the end users is that it is happening.

In the "Activity log" it shows the following:

    Delete SQL database Started

    Delete SQL database Accepted

  • Hello,

Could you please verify the resource group associated with those databases does no have a lock placed on it to avoid accidental deletion of databases?

If no lock is in place, then please open an Azure Support ticket This is the first time I hear the scenario you have described.

    Hope this helps.
