    The BSI is the National Standards body of the UK. It corresponds for example to the DIN in Germany. More details can be found here: http://www.bsigroup.com/

    Something that's maybe worth to metion is: "The" BSI standard does not exist. But quite often people refer in a certain context to a standard that has been issued by a certain organization xxx as "the xxx standard ...". Standards have an identifier that should be used in combination whith the standard issuer organization if you want to refer to a certain standard like

    • DIN 476
    • ISO 216
    • BS EN ISO 217 ( a "BSI standard" )

    All the three listed standards describe paper sizes.
