Document for "SPAM Search Folder 2"? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

It seems that each PST file has a hidden "SPAM Search Folder 2" under the store root. So it is also a special folder, like Inbox and Outbox. Is there any document on it?

    Thanks

  • Yes - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff386193%28v=office.12%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

But I don't think Outlook depends on it.

  • Hi,

Thanks. I also see that via Google. However, that does not provide much info, such as whether it has a fixed NID number, etc. The only thing documented is the known display name

  • There isn't one documented. You are welcome to search the properties exposed by various objects in the PST file with OutlookSopy or MFCMAPI to see if there is a property that holds its entry id.

Why do you care about that folder?

    Hi,

I try to download your OutlookSpy. However, I cannot find a place to search for a specific entry ID in other objects' properties. I try to visit your website, but only find your contact is for "feature request" only, not for "support".

    Thanks

  • There is no way in MAPI to search for some unknown property on some unknown objects. You can just go through the usual suspects (profile section, IPM root folder, Inbox, etc) to see if you can spot a property.

The question still stands: *why* do you need to do that?
