  • Did you ever have any beta test or release candidate versions of .NET Framework 4.0 installed on your computer (this would include any pre-release versions of Visual Studio 2010 or VS 2010 Express)?

Is there ANY beta test software installed on your computer?

If you did have a beta/RC .NET Framework 4.0 installed, please use this tool to completely remove all traces of .NET Framework 4.0:

If you have other beta software installed, you should completely remove it as well. The publisher(s) will have to provide instructions.

Once you are sure your system is clear of anything .NET Framework 4.0, please download a fresh copy of the standalone installer:

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24872

Clear out your %temp% directory. Disable your AV/anti-malware/firewall software.

Run the standalone installer from the system administrator account for your machine.
