Expression Blend Video Player Tutorial: Day 1 Video 8 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I downloaded the .zip file associated with this video and did all the tutorials to Day 1 Video 8. All worked great until I tried to get the project to come up in a browser. What is the process for making it come up in a browser?

  • I'm not sure which video you are talking about (there are so many!), but what type of project did you create? WPF or Silverlight?  Silverlight applications launch in the browser, where WPF applications are Windows desktop applications.

    Video #8

I have been going along with the video and when he brings up the browser window I get an error message when I hit debug:

"The project could not be built. Check the Results panel for more detailed information."

    The Results Panel:

"The specified solution configuration "Debug/MCD" is invalid. Please specify a valid solution configuration using the Configuration and Platform properties (e.g. MSBuild.exe Solution.sln/p:Configuration=Debug /p:Platform="Any CPU") or leave those properties blank to use the default solution configuration."

  • This is generally an environment variable configuration conflict. See the posting here:

There is probably an environment variable named "Platform" on your system set to MCD.
