  • It's not clear what your intent is... you might also find the Common Language Infrastructure standard of use (ECMA-335, available here). Partition II speaks to many things, including:

    6 Assemblies, manifests and modules
    22, 23 Metadata logical format
    24 Metadata physical layout
    25 File format extensions to PE

  • The .NET exe files are same as normal EXE files except that they contain CLR header.

    The format is called PE format and you can find its specification here:
