Does the deprecation of Bing Maps v7 effect the REST services? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our company received notification that the Bing Maps AJAX V7 Control and SOAP Web Services

offerings will be deprecated on Jun 30th this year. It seems our system only uses the REST

services for Imagery, Routes, and Geocoding. Will any of the services listed below be effected

    by this deprecation?

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/V1/Imagery/...

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/V1/Routes/...

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Locations/...

Looking at the REST services documentation it doesn't seem like these have changed, but

just wanted to make sure they won't be effected. Thank you.

  • The REST services are unchanged as a result of the V7 deprecation, these are completely different APIs. V7 is a JavaScript map control that has been replaced by V8. The REST services, are REST services :)
