Maintaing Array in WCF Service at run time? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am developing a solution in VB.net using the WCF services(This is Task Manager service)(hosted in window service and I am using the Task Parallel Library to achieve the multithreading).

My one window service is watching on the new file request coming in the queue. Another service (Task Manager service) is picking the files from the queue and taking various actions(mapping , scrubbing of files etc) I want to maintain the status of each file in the queue in code (not in the database) using Array list.

I am looking for the sugestions what approach I should take to implement this solution. I am using .NET 4.0.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • I would suggest to have a Tuple with one entry having a name and other having a status. Other possibility can be using a separate class like filename, it's status as properties. Then create List object of it. With this you can add/Remove and perform all collection operations in the object.
