Examples do not work after upgrade to Release Preview.

    Question

  • Hi,

    I upgraded yesterday to the RP. Now, I cannot compile (Javascript) the examples. For isntance the 'WindowsBlogReader' Demo App (Dev. Center Page). I changed the WinJS.06 to WinJS.1.0.RC.

    Now, I have the Problem, that following line fails:

    var articleSyndication = articlesResponse.responseXML;

    I saw to ways how this line break my code. First one, the Metro App jumps back to the VS and Shows me a line in base.js with Debugger(); The second way is, that I got an error lines later, where I access this variable, here is the error message: 'has no method or Attribute selectNodes()'.

    By both ways, the VS Debugger says, if I hover over articleRespone, 'unexpected error'. :(

    Has anybody an idea? This is sooo frustrating :(

    Regards,

    - Tobi

  • Hi Jeff,

    I read the article. I found nothing which could help me. Ok, my english is maybe not so good or I have no idea, for which buzzword I have to look for... :(

    I will try it again.

    Have a nice Weekend. :)

  • Hi Tobi,

    In general that document should list any breaking changes.  Did you go through the example line by line or simply change the WinJS references?  This article was re-written for RP so you may have missed something.  I doubt I will have time to build a new project from this sample myself today, but if I do... I will post what I find.
