Retrieving Data from LOTUS 1-2-3 to MS EXCEL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using MS Excel 2007 v12.0. MS Visual Basic v6.5. Lotus 1-2-3 v9.7 for Windows.

    Hi All,

I am currently writing a macro in VBA to consolidate data from various workbooks into one. Some of the files are under .123 and the current code I am using outputs "#REF!" in the respective cells.

The .123 workbooks are also password protected.

I am currently at a standstill with this situation. Any advice? Would the best alternative be to convert the .123 files to .xlsx?

    Cheers!

  • Lotus is still out there???!

I can't see a .123 format supported in Excel's File open, so if excel can't open them then yes, use 123 to convert the files to something Excel can read. If the file is password protected, you will need the password whether opening it manually or with code.

Is there an oledb driver for .123 files? you might be able to read tabular data using that.
