Microsoft RAM Disk Controller RRS feed

  • Question

  • In an install of Standard 7 embedded, I see a Windows RAM Disk Controller under system devices. How does one use this to setup a RAM Drive?

If you cannot - can someone point me to details setting up a RAM Drive in Standard 7?

I want to cache all user tmp files to a RAM Drive, so when the machine is restarted no trace is left on the harddrive.

    Thanks

  • The RAM drive is for the Registry Filter and not a traditional RAM drive that can be setup for access.

If you use FBWF or EWF, all the tempfiles get writen to the RAM overlay and are lost on reboot. No extra RAM drive is needed.
