MS Office and Notron 360 missing RRS feed

  • Question

  • I left my computer (HP notebook, only a few months old) running for 24 hours while I went to a wedding out of town, and when I returned my screen was blank and I couldn't reboot without a Win7 boot disk.  Once in, I ran the HP Asssessment utilities and it indicated that my hard drive had failed.  My Norton 360 wasn't working and the files were gone, as well as ALL of my MS Office 2010 files.  I'm also behind a Verizon Router, which I think/thought has a built-in firewall.  I shut down for the night.  I successfully rebooted this morning without using the Win7 boot disk, and the Norton and MS Office were still missing.  I just read about some huge malware infection that the FBI has been tracking and is going to shut down a huge population of computers.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do?
