project server 2016 permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am new to project server 2016 and I have read a lot on how to set user permissions however I can't seem to find the answer to my problem. I have a scenario in which new projects are created using the CSOM. After creating new projects, I need to set user permissions to the newly created project programatically. I can't seem to find a way to do so using the CSOM and some people claim that this is not possible.

I have figured out that setting the owner field (draftProject.Owner) to the user whom we need to grant permissions using the CSOM might help. However, after creating the project and setting the owner, the owner doesn't seem to have access to the project meaning that the owner field does not grant permission to the user by default. I am using the Sharepoint permission mode. How can we automatically provide permissions to users who are project owners? Does the CSOM support project permissions? What is the best way to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,
