Performance Session file does not exist or is invalid

  • I have a web application that I'm trying to profile.

    Here are my steps:

    1) Debug => Performance Profiler

    2) Performance Wizard is checked.

    3) Click start

    3) CPU sampling (recommended) checked

    4) Next

    5) One or more available projects => pick the web project

    6) Next

    7) Next

    8) Launch profiling after the wizard finishes. checked

    9) Next

    10) Performance Session file c:\Users\...\Performance file.psess does not exist or is invalid.

    11)  Click Ok.

    12) Object null or not set to an instance of an object.

    The file exists, I can see it in the specified directory.  If I try to open it from the file menu, I get the same error message, minus the object null message.
