How do I run my "windows store" .exe? RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I'm porting our game engine to Windows Store, I'm not building from Visual Studio, I'm using scons on the "VS2012 x64 Cross Tools Command Prompt". I was able to link a .exe, using the option /APPCONTAINER on the linker (among other things related to winrt). However when I run the resulting .exe, I get a dialog saying "this application can only be run in the context of an app container".

    How do I run it from an "app container"? Is there some wrapper I could use during development? Ultimately I'd like to be able to pack and launch a game from our engine editor during development, and possibly deploy it to a windows phone using an executable compiled for ARM, etc. Are there standalone tools for this? I can only find documentation from within Visual Studio.
