  • Hi Chetana,

Thank you for posting in the MSDN Forum.

I have Office 2010 installed on my machine, and when I tried to build Excel 2007 Workbook project Visual Studio prompt me with

You must install the Microsoft Office applcation that is associated with this project type.

From this we could know that your Excel 2007 project cannot be build when Office 2007 is not installed.

For your 2nd question, I think it will be better to make the jobs apart as certain changes have been made between the 2 versions' PIAs, say backstage view.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,
