How to create a JavaScript project in VS 2019 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to follow the project described this line: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/apps/hh779077%28v%3dvs.140%29 and it says to create a Java Script project, but I have installed all the packages I can think of in Visual Studio 2019 and seem like they support Java Script but I do not see a plain vanilla JavaScript project option in Visual Studio 2019. Can you help? Also half of the code they say to type in is in C# and the other half is in VB. This is what they have:

    Copy
    namespace SampleComponent
    {
        public sealed class Example
        {
            public static string GetAnswer()
            {
                return "The answer is 42.";
            }

            public int SampleProperty { get; set; }
        }
    }

    Public NotInheritable Class Example
        Public Shared Function GetAnswer() As String
            Return "The answer is 42."
        End Function

        Public Property SampleProperty As Integer
    End Class

    I have never seen this. Is this possible?

  • Thank you. I was struggling to differentiate between WinRT and UWP, until I read some online content on both and realized in some ways UWP is the evolution of WinRT.
