How to solve: The HTTP request to 'http://localhost:49915/Web/Microsoft-LightSwitch-Security-ServerGenerated-Implementation-AuthenticationService.svc/binary/GetAuthenticationInfo' has exceeded the allotted RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have installed my application to a client desktop connected to my server(laptop) via homegroup.  Whe I run the application I am stucked with the error :

The HTTP request to 'http://localhost:50340/Web/Microsoft-LightSwitch-Security-ServerGenerated-Implementation-AuthenticationService.svc/binary/GetAuthenticationInfo' has exceeded the allotted timeout. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.

I have read some threads regarding this error but seems nothing applies to my situation.

  • Hi,

Do you know if the Authentication Service is installed on the client or server? Should it be localhost vs your server address?

Barring that, could it be that the service is being blocked by the firewall? I am assuming your client is trying to hit the service, but it sounds like its looking locally on the client for the service vs looking on the server where it should be.

  • Hi Pierson,

Thank you so much for giving your precious time.

I actually do not know if authentication service was installed.  Can you point me a step to know if it is installed?

Look, I am a new to LS and SQL Server.  I was thinking that my homegroup setup was not perfect.  Please try to browse this thread

    this was my initial problem.

  • From what I can see you are trying to run the app as a web application on the localhost?, if this is true you should (I respectfully suggest) revert back to desktop app.

I am currently re-writing the posting I made on your previous question. It is much simplified and I think very easy to follow. I have tested out if you follow my suggestions it will work 100%

    Thanks
