Translation API of Visual C#? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

Application need to provide translation for user to translation string.

That means, there is a UI provide a native language and the string be translation.

    Input : Chinese

    Output : Russian

    Input string : 蘋果

Output string : яблоко (User gets this by selection the input language / output language and string be translated)

Is there any way to call a translation API in Visual C# Window Form application?

Either standalone(without web link) or by calling web service (Google translation or Microsoft translation)?

    Thanks and Best regards,

    E-John

  • Hello E-John, I have used cognitive services: translator api and I recommend it as it is relatively simple to start, free to begin with and there is a lot of documentation around it.

You will need to create an Azure account and I suggest first using the online api to get to know the method calls.

Take a look at the Develop your own App section: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/translator/trial.aspx

    Cheers, Jeff

  • Hi E-John,

    Thank you for posting here.

For your question, please download the source file from the links below.

You could use Google's translation API.

    https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/12711/Google-Translator

Or you could do translation without API.
