WHCK 2.1, Studio, Tests tab, "Length" field/column question RRS feed

  • Question

  • The "Tests" tab of HCK Studio has a "Length" column indicating, I presume, a time-duration of the line-item test. Given that I presume it's an "approximate" -- with all the disclaimers and caveats that that might come with -- what factors might influence how long that test actually takes to run?  I am noticing my tests take considerably longer to run than the time indicated in the "Length" column. Considerably longer.  For instance, a "02m" Length -- which I assume is two minutes -- takes 6 to 10 minutes; an "12m" Length test -- twelve minutes? -- seems to take an hour or more (in neither case have I specifically measured, but it's in that order).   Is this "normal and expected"?  Or is my setup impaired?  What's your mileage?  What are the relevant factors? My test system and controller system are somewhat modern, my lab-network connection twixt them a Gig link, what can I improve to get my tests to run closer to the "Length" times? Thanks,

  • Hi Mark,

Please don't consider the time length provided by MSFT against each test case. If your test is passing in whatever time duration , then your setup is fine. Not to worry at all. in WHQL, our target is pass the test without bothering about how long it's running.

    Thanks,
