  • Hi,

    Am looking for tool to get required hardware for my intranet site deployment. can anybody guide me any tool/excel to get required information.

  • All you need is a Windows Server and IIS installed on a local network and you can begin running Intranet applications. If you are talking more about what type of CPU how much memory, network load requirments, etc. there is no exact formula you can just plug in some figures and get what hardware is required. Most of this knowledge comes from experience on the Networking side of things. If you have 5 users for a single Intranet app then a single server might do the job. If you have 100,000 users on a company intranet portal you might need a web farm that is load balanced to handle the traffic and requests.

    Your best plan of action is to get all the specifics of your site(s) and then seek out the Networking folks on the IIS forums to see what recommendations they have as to specific hardware recommendations since this really isn't a software architecture question. Good Luck!
