Change regional settings on a SQL proxy account for SISS jobs RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a couple of SQL jobs that run SISS packages that outputs some files. The SQL Agent user that execute the jobs have english regional settings. Now we want to run some of the jobs with another user that has an another regional settings.

I have tried to logon with the SQL Agent user locally on the DB-server and changed the Regional settings and the sql jobs will go perfect with the new format in our ouput files but when I try to setup a new account as an SQL Proxy user the regional settings does not seem work through a proxy.

So is there a restriction on the proxy user or have I missed something?

    Runnining MS SQL 2008 R2.

Running with different Collation on server and on the databases.

Added the needed local policies for the SQL Agent.

  • As far as I know the local computer locale gets retrieved from the registry at the package level. So your approach is not going to work.

  • Okay, I suspected that. Then I need to make the changes in the packages instead.

    Thank you for your reply.
