  • Check out the "Tools / Customize / Commands" options in Visual Studio.

The command you are looking for should be the File group, so just drag it from the Customize dialog onto the File pull-down menu.

    I hope this helps!

  • I tried that but the export template command isn't in the list of things you can add.

  • Still no answer on this question? I also don't seem to be able to import my own custom templates. Adding them to the customary path in Documents does not seem to work even with running vswinexpress /installvstemplates

  • The Export Template functionality is not available in the Express SKU.  You will need to move to a Pro, or higher, SKU if you require that option.  Express still supports installing 3rd party/user templates from the Visual Studio Gallery via the Extension Manager and directly via template or VSIX files.

To create templates when using Express, you'll have to create them manually.  See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/ms185291(v=vs.100).aspx for details on creating your own Project Templates directly and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/ms247113(v=vs.100).aspx for details on creating item templates.
