Progress of Build in Visual Studio RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was thinking about writing a plugin for Visual Studio and I want to know whether it is possible to know the time left (May not be prefect but atleast approximate) for the build process to complete?

  • Hello,

As I know, DTE automation has no this feature, and the available events only represent to the BuildBegin and BuildEnd.
If we can get the Finish notify for each task of the building, we can do a approximate estimate, but unfortunately we can't, and there is no a way to know how many tasks the build need to run.

    Sincerely,

  • Thanks. I have developed a VS add in for Windows 7. http://buildview.codeplex.com/ This plugin displays progress of the build in the taskbar progressbar.
