Paid VB.NET Program Completed on VS Community Edition, but no Setup Project to Deploy It

    Question

  • I'm running Visual Studio Community 2015 on a Windows 10 laptop. I created a VB.NET program for a client on contract and the Microsoft website says that an individual can use the community edition to create software for himself or to sell.  But when I go to Other Project Types to add a Setup Project, I see there are no setup projects available.  Now my client is waiting and I'm stuck.  Interestingly, I noticed one video on YouTube where they're showing how to do the setup and deployment in Visual Studio Community Edition and the setup projects are there.  But the maker of the video didn't mention how to add the setup project types to Visual Studio Community Edition.

Is there a way to add the setup projects?

  • Hi Phil73,

We could not install setup project template for VS2015 Community. Please refer to the following screenshot:

In my side, I used VS2015 Enterprise, and under the Other Project Types I could install the Setup and Deployment template, please refer the following screenshot:
