Windows 7 "Startup Repair" deleted my private FILES! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

after install Starforce software i clicked START menu -> Restart Windows, my PC refused to start and a "Startup Repair" window appeared. After repair, some of my private files disappeared. After review, i found only some files with specific extension and date were deleted mostly ".exe .dll .lnk". It seems Windows 7 deleted every file that is not in list of last successful system boot. How is it possible, MY files are deleted by operating system windows 7, WITHOUT WARNING, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION? OS Windows 7 must not touch my files, it must not rename them, it must not move them, and absolutely not DELETE them without my permission. Plenty of protections against viruses a malwares, but the true danger come from os windows 7 itself...

This is not new problem. Same thing happened before 3 years. Why it is not fixed yet?

Is there way to find out, what files were deleted?

  • Hmmm...I don't think as if you re-installed your OS, the OS would have deleted all files except SYSTEM files and would have cleaned that memory, so there is little \ no chance of ever retrieving those files or finding deleted files.
