Metro apps won't open - strange error message

Question
-
When I try to open any of the Metro apps (besides IE and the Control Panel), it shows the app's splash screen for a split second before switching to the "Store" splash screen. After a few seconds, I get switched to the desktop where the following error message popup appears (in this case, I had tried to open the weather app):
ms-windows-store:PDP?PFN=microsoft.weather_8wekyb3d8bbwe&errorCode=80073d01
Call was canceled by the message filter.
EDIT:I forgot to mention that restarting doesn't fix it, and that I have all the latest Windows updates. This is really weird and any help would be appreciated.
EDIT 2:
I tried creating another user account, and the problem doesn't occur there. I think it might be caused by my account being linked to a Live ID, but I can't find a way to unlink it to see if that fixes the issue. Any ideas?

Windows Developer Preview includes several new options for recovering your system from errors or problems, one of which is the Push Button Reset. Push Button Reset is exposed to the user as two different options.
In this case, let’s try to “Refresh your PC without affecting your files,” first.
Go to Control Panel within the Metro UI. Click on General -> Under Refresh your PC without affecting files, click on “Get Started.”
This will restore your settings to defaults. Click Next -> and follow the prompts to Refresh your PC.
After you have completed these steps, do you still experience the same errors?
