Indexeddb resets when app manifest changes

    Question

  • Hi,

I am using indexeddb for my app database. I see that if I update the app manifest all data in the database is lost.

I guess it may be due to change in app manifest changes app signature and so a new indexeddb instance is created (not sure)

If it is so, how can I keep the database if at a later date I push an update to my customers with a change in app signature..

  • Thats because changes in the app manifest lead to a uninstall/redeploy cycle.

It will not happen during app-update from the store.

It would be really nice if MSFT would provide an app-store update simulator way for such kind of scenarios.
