Event Log Message Flood RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of our QA guys pointed out last night that the event log on one of our test machines was filling up at a very rapid pace, (6-8 of these msgs per second) from WDS 3.01 messages:

    Event Type:    Error

    Event Source:    Windows Search Service

    Event Category:    Gatherer

    Event ID:    3013

    Date:        11/12/2007

    Time:        10:22:57 PM

    User:        N/A

    Computer:    VANCOUVER

The entry <G:\SECONDARY TESTING AREA\SECONDARY TESTING FOLDER\ARENA\HEATHER_46> in the hash map cannot be updated.

    Context: Windows Application, SystemIndex Catalog

        Unspecified error

    * - The directories specified in the error msgs varies, so it's not always the same folder.

    * - The event log does not go back far enough for me to see anything before these zillions of events.

    * - This machine was very busy doing other work at the time.

Does anyone know why this happens?

If so, what can I do about it?
