WHQL digital signed driver(SHA256) is worked fine on WIN10, but warning at win7 sp1 with KB3033929 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased an EV Code sign from symantec.

    1. double sign (main sha1 & add sha256) driver
    2. upload .cab file to "https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/dashboard/hardware/driver"
    3. after attestation, download the signed zip.
    4. try install this driver on win10 1709 - it's worked fine.
    5. try install this driver on win7 sp1 with KB3033929 - a red warning appear same as below

"windows cannot verify the digital signature for this driver"

    6. I tried to re-sign my driver only use SHA-256 and do a test on win7 sp1 with KB3033929
*sign(SHA-256) but no upload to WHQL : worked fine
*sign(SHA-256) and upload to WHQL     : red warning appeared again.....

I don't want to see this warning,
    how to solve this problem?
    is any should be attention?

    thanks~

  • Hi smallpig01,

I hope you will insert screenshots writte in English. I can read Chinese characters.

I recommend to install English language pack, if you are  a software developer, or an advanced user. I guess you're the latter.
