How do I start JSON editor ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have just installed  VS2013 community edition  Update 4.

I can find the XML editor OK, but I see no sign of the JSON editor?

Examples are shown in Release candidates from 2014 but the menus seem to have changed.

Does it exist?  Do I have to install some addin?  Use a special Template?

  • Hi Joe,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Generally, I know it is default that when you created the .json file under your proejct, you could right-click the .json file->Select the Open with check the json is opened as JSON Editor (Default) like the following screen shot.

If you did not see the JSON Editor (Default) option, maybe you will need to repair or re-install the VS2013 Community with Update 4 check this issue again.

If you see the JSON Editor (Default) option, I know that it is default that the .json file is opened as JSON Editor.

    Best Regards,
