Problems of Co-authoring of an Excel file RRS feed

  • Question

  • The new co-authoring function for an Excel file on a sharepoint works great for a moment, until the files often conflict with each others, like this:

Upload failed warningThis happens often when they try to close the file.

I couldn't find any cause for such situation, as if they were just random bugs. Are there any remedies for the situation??

    Here are some details:

    1. The file is accessed with a desktop client of Excel, not Excel online.
    2. All Excel (Office 365) clients have been upgraded to a version (i.e. 1808(10730.20334) Semi-Annual Channel) where co-authoring is supported.
    3. Auto-save is on for every users.
    4. Our users are editing different area of the excel. It's not common for them to edit the same area, let alone the same cells.
    5. Users will add or delete rows from time to time. (But I did test with a few users, adding/ deleting rows randomly, and that didn't result in any conflicts. The Excel works just fine.)
    6. No one is checking out the file.
    7. The file is being accessed directly via a desktop shortcut with "ms-excel:ofe|u|[FILE'S URL]".
    8. About 6 users are accessing the file concurrently.

Please advise if there is anyway to prevent the conflicts.

    Thank you in advance.
