Recommended use for POP3 email services for BizTalk 2010 on Windows Server 2008 SP2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We want to install / configure a POP3 email service. We are configuring a Receive Port/Location with POP3 transport type. Our BizTalk servers are installed on Windows Server 2008 SP2 which does not come with a out of the box POP3 email server setup.

Is there a recommended solution out there? I have done my research and people are using so many different solutions for this (e.g. visendo smtp extender). What does Microsoft recommend for its users who are migrating from Windows Server 2003.

    Thanks.

Answers

  • Do you want to run a POP3 server just for communicating with BizTalk or part of an enterprise email environment like Exchange? You can use POP3 over SSL and just use the POP3 functionality in Exchange, although this is not enabled by default.

    Thanks,
