  • Is this a desktop (OOB) app, or a web app?

    Actually this question isn't really about "extensability", so it probably belongs in the "Visual Studio LightSwitch - General (Beta)" forum, not so much this one.

  • As Yann is suggesting, this code will only work in a Ligthswitch desktop application.

    Before running the CreateItem method, can you check that the outlook object isn't null? If it is, it might point you in the right direction.

  • I solved the issue by declaring the outlook field type as dynamic instead of object and that did it. - thanks guys
