How do I tell Windows to install a driver even if it has a higher rank than the lowest? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Suppose, after scanning the driver store, Windows finds a driver X to have the lowest rank. And then calls it's co-installer

Now, this co-installer wants to stop the installation and force Windows to use another driver from driver store that is having higher rank than the current selected package.

Is it possible to implement this? I want to implement this using Win32 API and C++ in the co-installer

Even if someone could just tell the approach or example code/Classes, it'll be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time :)
