Privacy Policy requirement

    Question

  • I see that Windows 8.1 Update (I think it wasn't before there, correct me if I am wrong) automatically adds Privacy Policy link in Settings charms, which opens Windows Store app in section where link to Privacy Policy is shown.

I am not sure whether this means that adding your own Privacy Policy entry in Settings is not required? I couldn't see any changes in document about app requirements, and I can see most apps still have their own entry which as a duplicate looks very ugly. However, built-in apps like Skype don't have this any more. But some MS apps like OneNote have entry "Privacy Statement", which is link to Privacy policy.

And then Facebook app has Privacy entry, but it allows user to set how much his data would be visible to other users, which is not Privacy Policy that should say how company treats your data.

Anyway, I can't find anyone commented this change, is Privacy Policy link in app still necessary? I can check this by removing that and submitting, but I wouldn't like to do that :)
