Read Resource Availability RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

We're looking to read the "Resource Availability" from the "Resource Information" screen in Project Professional in Project Server 2010.  In summary, we've manually set the capacity of particular resource pools for various time periods.

We have not been able to find this in the reporting database, but we see that it appears to be stored in the MSP_Resource table in the publish database.  It appears to be stored in the RES_AVAILABILITY column in a hex format.

Is there a good way to convert this?  Is there any other solution to get this data?

    Thanks,
    Jon

  • In the Reporting DB, you could also get it from the Capacity in the dbo.MSP_EPMResourceByDay table, and then compare that to the Work in the dbo.MSP_EPMAssignmentByDay table by doing a join on TimeByDay and ResourceUID.

  • Andrew, the MSP_EPMResourceByDay is exactly what I need and I would obviously prefer to hit the reporting database then build a custom cube off the publish database at night.   However, MSP_EPMResourceByDay is controlled by "Resource Capacity Settings" in "Additional Server Settings" under "Operational Policies" and has a max of 36 months.
