ASP.NET sqlDatasource to Azure connects but simple query (top 10) times out RRS feed

    I'm stumped. I set up the sqlDatasource to point to my Azure db and the test connection works.

    Then I enter a query that should take about 1 second and it times out after 30 seconds.

    I'm using Visual Studio 2013 Express for Web and a standard ASP.NET webforms project.

    Any ideas?
