SSIS SMO Connection Timeout RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using SSIS 2008. I have few jobs in sysjobs table. I want to transfer some of the jobs to some other DB (sysjobs table). I am using the "Transfer Job Task".

As my server is present in a remote location, the connection is getting timeout in 15 sec. Even if I am trying to test the SMO connection.

Can you help me in setting the connection time out to 120. Either by any connection string or by setting any property in the SMO connection manager.

Also is there any other way to transfer some of the jobs present in the sys jobs table to another table using SSIS.

    Thanks

    Mithilesh

  • Access the All connection's property page (just below the Connection, you may need to double0click on it) and then in the connection timeout specify the value of 120

  • I am not getting any property by doubleclicking on the Connection tab. Although the Connection Timeout and Query Timeout in

Tools--> Option --> Bussiness Intelligence Designer is set as 120.

Still it is expiring in 15 sec even on test connection.

  • Hi Mithilesh Supkar,

I suggest you configure the timeout in the script task, please refer to the coding in the following thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/lv/sqlsmoanddmo/thread/805e95c0-59ef-4d30-a554-6f00427a2785

The Script task can access these connection managers through the Connections property of the Dts object. Each connection manager in the Connections collection stores information about how to connect to the underlying data source. For more details about it, please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms136018.aspx

Please feel free to ask if you have any question.

    Thanks,
    Eileen
