Azure with DirectX

  • How would I go about building a DirectX game that can use Azure for leaderboards, ect...

  • As you can run WCF services on the server side you can choose between different protocols (like REST). As the Windows Runtime contains support for sockets you can write the client side by using this.


    Metro.Net supports the System.ServiceModel namespace which would make it easier to talk to an WCF server side service. It should be possible to use an metro.net class libraries from the C++ code. But to be honest I haven’t try this way yet as I am working on the other way (making DirectX usable inside a C#/VB Metro application). This way I have no problem talking to a WCF service inside my code using the standard tools
